I am from Upstate New York. I have used radios since my teen years, starting with CB's. I worked in public service most of my life, including EMS, Fire Department and Law Enforcement. After I retired, I found I missed the radio part. February 2021, I got my GMRS license. With limited repeaters, I wanted to expand my capabilities. October 2021, I obtained my Technician's license. In November 2021, I passed my General test and upgraded to Extra in March 2022. I have been enjoying every minute of the hobby.
In June 2023, I attended the ECR Western NY Meet & Greet. Dick and Michael held a popup Net. Dick handed me the radio and with Michael's help, I conducted part of the Net. A little bit later, Dick sent me an email asking if I would consider being a substitute Net Controller for the ECR. I graciously accepted the offer and now I'm a regular Net Controller and logger for the Morning Brew. I enjoy being part of the team and talking with all of you on the Nets.
In my free time, I enjoy riding and traveling on my motorcycle, some time on the range and being active outdoors.
